2020 Porsche 911 Carrera unleashed, to arrive in AUS by the end of 2019

Almost a year after the launch of the Carrera S, Porsche, at last, has unveiled the 2020 911 Carrera in front of the world. At $229,500, the all-new Porsche 911 Carrea costs $2000 more than the last-gen model. However, all of the enhanced power figures, latest tech, and a dose of premium-ness don’t let one pay too much heed to the higher than before price tags.

Following are the prices for the various 2020 Prosche 911 Carrera models:

  • 911 Carrera: $229,500
  • 911 Carrera Cabriolet: $251,000
  • 911 Carrera S: $264,400
  • 911 Carrera 4S: $280,700
  • 911 Carrera S Cabriolet: $286,100
  • 911 Carrera 4S Cabriolet: $302,200

Having a look at the 2020 Porsche 911 Carrera specs list, we find that it is the same twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre flat-six engine that we saw on the 911 Carrera S a year ago. The maximum power produced by the flat-six on the Carrera reads at 384 PS, while the peak torque generated by the mill is 450 Nm. The power output here is 65 PS less than the Carrera S and 15 PS more than the previous-gen 911 Carrera. The transmission duties are handled by an eight-speed PDK. A 0-100 kmph run on the 2020 Porsche 911 Carrea takes no more than 4.2 seconds. Furthemore, 293 kmph is where the German coupe tops out at. Go for the Sport Chrono specced model and you can achieve a 0-100 kmph feat in 4.0 seconds.

911 Carrera Cabin

The standard 2020 Porsche 911 Carrera rides on 19-inch alloy wheels at the front and 20-inch alloys at the rear. The alloys then were 235/40 ZR and 295/35 ZR tyres are the front and the rear, respectively. For stopping power, the all-new Carrera gets a set of 330mm discs which work in tandem with four-piston callipers. Expect the 2020 Porsche 911 Coupe to return a mileage of 11.11 kmpl. The 2020 Porsche 911 Cabriolet, on the other hand, should return around 10.8 kilometres for every litre of fuel that it guzzles.

Carrera 911 Rear

Differentiating the 911 Carrera from the Carrera S are the individual tailpipe covers, smaller wheels, and some other bits & pieces. The infotainment system inside comprises of a 10.9-inch touchscreen unit. All of the heated 14-way comfort front seats, Bose surround sound system, lane-change assist, DAB radio, keyless entry & start, auto-dimming mirrors, and a reverse parking camera will make their way to the Australian-spec 2020 Porsche 911 Carrera as well. We will see the all-new Carrera hitting the Australian roads in the fourth quarter of 2019.
