Mercedes-Benz introduces special edition models

With an intend to entice customers, the luxury carmaker added some highlights to its already released sports edition models. The brand released GLA 180 small SUV, B180 hatch, and E200 large sedan to accord with the C-Class sedan and coupe sports versions.

Speaking of GLA180 Urban Edition first, its price starts from $49,990 drive-away while the regular model is priced at $44,700. So, what you will get by spending extra bucks? The special edition houses several extra appointments taken from option packages. Specifically, it comes with ambient lighting, powered front seats, panoramic sunroof, Macapa upholstery, and four-way lumbar and memory. Not only this, but some features are also added from Keyless-Go Comfort Package. Regular 18-inch wheels are replaced by a larger 19-inch. Though the model called Urban, the firm offers an optional Off-Road Comfort Suspension package with the version. Coming to the performance, it is powered by 1.6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder unit paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, producing 122 PS of power and 200 Nm of peak torque.

Moving to the B180 Sport Edition, it is priced at $52,990 drive-away, which means a noticeable increase in price as the regular B180 price starts from $46,400 (before on-road costs). For justification of higher price, the model is upgraded with the following specs:

  • AMG Line body kit and 18-inch AMG wheels
  • Panoramic sunroof,
  • Multibeam LED headlights with adaptive high-beam assist
  • 360-degree camera
  • Powered front seats

Under the skin, the engine bay houses a 1.3-litre turbocharged four-cylinder unit with 136 PS of power and 200 Nm of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

And last but not least, we come to the most expensive E200 Sport Edition large sedan. It is priced at $98,900 drive-away as compared to the regular model price of $93,640 (before on-road costs). It comes with an AMG Line body kit, AMG 20-inch alloy wheels, and a panoramic sunroof. Other appointments like a head-up display and 13-speaker Burmester surround sound system are adopted from Vision Package. If we talk about the mechanical bits, the model is powered by a 2.0 turbocharged four-cylinder mill producing 183 PS of power and 300 Nm of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a nine-speed automatic transmission.

All the special versions are available to order and delivery between now and the end of the year.
