Audi reveals 2020 Q7; revamped design and powertrain

The all-new 2020 facelifted Audi Q7 has been unveiled in Australia. As displayed earlier in the spy shots, the latest seven-seat luxury SUV features a revised design motivated by other new models in Audi’s ‘Q’ crossover segment such as the Q3 and Q8.

Starting with the exterior, with a new octagonal ‘Singleframe’ grille with six upright slats, the Q7 mirrors a much larger version of the new Q3. The headlights flaunt optional HD Matrix LED technology with Audi laser light and a fresh LED signature with striped effect. You can even opt for the S line exterior package, which features more aggressive bumpers with skid plate elements front and rear, along with standard 19-inch alloy wheels.

Audi has also come up with four-wheel steering as an option, which increases manoeuvrability and enhances highway stability. The most notable change has occurred inside the cabin with the Q7 utilising Audi’s new dual-screen MMI touch layout. The cabin boasts configurable ambient lighting, four-zone climate control, power soft-close doors, a Bang & Olufsen 3D Advanced Sound System, along with air fragrances and ionisation.

Driver assistance and connectivity include online traffic information, Google Earth mapping, and compatibility with the Amazon Alexa voice assistant. The head-up now features information related to the Car-to-X function. Moving on to powertrain, all the variants will come with 48V mild-hybrid technology, along with an eight-speed automatic transmission and Quattro permanent all-wheel drive.

Audi has not revealed the detailed outputs, performance figures, or fuel consumption. Q7 will feature two turbo-diesel engines, followed by turbo petrol and a plug-in hybrid. The safety feature will include adaptive cruise assist, lane change assist, brake assist and more.
