Ford unveils all-new Puma, to arrive in European market by end of 2019

Ford has taken the wraps off its all-new Puma crossover and the brand itself dubbed it as an “SUV-inspired compact crossover”. The full details of the SUV have been revealed and the company has informed that the entry-level model will have mild-hybrid powertrain option too.
The all-new Puma comes with a frog-like face that includes high-mounted headlights along with a large grille. At the rear, there are high-mounted taillights. There is also an option of wearing the aggressive ST-Line X design package that has bigger wheels, unique trim pieces and different bumpers.
On the mechanical front, the crossover comes with two different variants of a mild-hybrid system. It contains a 48-volt hybrid system along with a turbocharged 1.0-litre three-cylinder engine and is paired with a six-speed manual transmission. The powertrains’ tuning will be different that results in either 123 hp or 153 hp of power output. Both the versions come with a front-wheel-drive system.
Furthermore, the manufacturer claims that there will be a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission mated to a diesel engine, which is waiting at the pipeline. Moreover, the car will also get a four-cylinder gas engine equipped with all-wheel-drive layout.
Getting inside the car, there is a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster having the 24-bit processing placed on the dash. This is further coupled with an 8.0-inch Sync 3 infotainment system having built-in navigation along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. The front seats come with lumbar massage function. The wireless phone charging, 575W B&O sound system with 10 speakers are the other notable features inside the system.
As for the safety features, the crossover brings the brand's own Co-Pilot360 suite that includes lane-keeping assist, automated emergency braking, evasive steering assist, parking assist and adaptive cruise control There is also a feature called Local Hazard Information that shows real-time notifications of things like the road closures.
As for the manufacturer's word, the car will hit the European market by the end of the year, while the crossover will not come to Australia in the near future.
