Toyota LandCruiser gets the most expensive limited edition model ever

The Toyota LandCruiser has been in the automobile scenes for quite some time now and the Japanese automaker thinks it is the perfect time to bring its most expensive edition. Cometh the 60th anniversary of the car, cometh the LandCruiser Sahara Horizon.

The Toyota LandCruiser 200 Sahara Horizon tops the entire lineup of the car and comes with a whopping price tag of $129,090. It is around $6,000 more expensive than the Sahara variant. And guess what, it has every single element to justify the high price.

The LandCruiser 200 Sahara Horizon will continue to get all the equipment from its trim siblings as standard, like the 18-inch alloy wheels, ventilated and heated front seats, 4-zone automatic climate control, satellite navigation, etc. On the mechanical side, it will be driven by the same 4.5-litre twin-turbo V8 diesel that is mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

What you get extra at the premium price are aesthetic features, like darkened headlamps and the surrounds on the foglamps, unique-looking dark grille, etc. Inside the cabin, the steering wheel gets black-coloured heated leather covers, while the seats get leather upholstery and have “LandCruiser” embossed on the backrest.

The safety section includes almost all of the Toyota Safety Sense features, like radar cruise control, parking sensors in the front and rear, pedestrian detection with pre-collision warning, rear-view camera, rear cross-traffic alert, and blind-spot monitoring.

The premium Toyota LandCruiser 200 Sahara Horizon will be a limited edition model and only 400 units of the same will be produced. However, considering the fact that Toyota has developed yet another limited edition in the 200 Series LandCruiser, we can get a little hint that the model generation is nearing its end. But having said that, the automaker itself hasn’t spoken a word on the introduction of a new 300 Series yet.

If at all the 300 Series gets underway, it might get a turbo V6 diesel engine in place of the current V8 twin-turbo mill. However, it is still early to speculate the happenings until Toyota itself drops an indication.
