The interiors of the vehicle have been designed to ensure maximum comfort and convenience. The Amarok comes in three different trim levels, namely the Core, Canyon and Highline V6 models, along with an additional premium spec model named the Ultimate V6. The Core V6 comes with 17’’ POSADAS alloy wheels, the Canyon comes with 17” ARAGUA alloys, and the Highline showcases an 18” MANAUS alloy. The Ultimate V6 and the Highline V6 580 Black offers a large 20” TALCA alloys.

The chassis is tough enough for everything that the vehicle is faced with. The chassis has 7 cross-sections with two long and the rest connected with shorter chassis rails. The cross-sectional structures provide added rigidity and reinforced strength for excellent load-lugging capabilities. With high strength steel throughout the chassis, and prominent lines and chrome accents, the Bi-Xenon daytime running headlamps give the Amarok a tough and aggressive look.

The Torsen differential 4x4 system distributes optimal power to all four wheels, and with the shifting power abilities to the front and rear wheels, maximum grip is assured, on both on-road and off-road conditions. The Hill Descent Control feature and the additional “off-road” driving mode give you complete control of the vehicle on all kinds of road conditions. The mechanical differential lock ensures maximum traction on every kind of road and ensures starting up on adverse conditions easier.

The 3.0 litre Turbo-Diesel V6 engine in the Core, Sportline and Highline variants deliver an impressive and thrilling 165kW of power and 180kW of power on Overboost, while the Amarok V6 Ultimate 580 and Highline 580 Black delivers 190kW of power which surges to a whopping 200kW of power on Overboost, completing the 0 to 100 frame in 7.3 seconds.

The Turbo Diesel V6 engine in the Core, Sportline and Highline variants deliver an impressive 550 Nm of torque and the more powerful ute in its class, the Amarok V6 Ultimate 580 and Highline 580 Black deliver an incredible 580 Nm of torque, with 8 speed auto transmission for all models and a 3.5 tonne braked towing capacity when fitted with a genuine VW tow bar.

The four-wheel disc brakes along with rear ventilated disc brakes and a recalibrated ABS provide exceptional and efficient braking performance along with improved performance on off-road conditions and reduces the stopping distance on loose surfaces significantly. Volkswagen’s specially designed Electronic Stabilisation Programme applies brakes to individual wheels and balances the output of the engine to reduce chances of oversteering or understeering, brilliantly complemented with an off-road ABS feature. While airbags are available for front seats, the rear seats still lack airbags which can be a downside to the vehicle.

When it comes to all-terrain pickup, Amarok is surely one of the best choices available in the Australian market.
