Audi RS 5 Coupe

The Audi RS5 Coupe has the same dashboard and cabin layout as that in the A5. However, the choice of sporty design bits make it a more inviting place to be in.

The flat bottom steering wheel as well as a multi functional virtual cockpit in the instrument console make up for an excellent place from the driver’s point of vision. Also, the floating type infotainment system above the wide centre console goes with the current trends of designing. The fine Nappa leather upholstery with red contrast stitching goes very well with the all black interior theme with silver inserts around AC vents.

The Audi RS5 Coupe is based on the A5 Coupe, so one does get the same coupe-like silhouette which is sharper at some places. The frontal fascia here in the RS5 Coupe has the hexagonal grille which is blackened and comes with honeycomb mesh within it. The sleek wraparound full LED headlamps with daytime running LEDs are straight lift-offs from the A5, though. The front bumper, however, is different and looks much aggressive with pointy underskirts and large air dams.

The side profile of the Audi RS5 Coupe has the same sloping roofline and smooth character line throughout it, like in the A5. However, one can find larger and much better looking alloy wheels and a black roof to accentuate its sporty appeal. At the rear, the slim LED tail lamps are the same as that in the A5, however, the RS5 Coupe has a sleek boot lid spoiler and different rear bumper with four exhaust outlets.

The Audi RS5 Coupe hasn’t got only the right engine, but also the right combination of excellent driving dynamics to match it. The sports coupe has Quattro all wheel drive as standard, which along with taut suspension and steering setup, makes for a very balanced driving experience.

The Audi RS5 Coupe is powered by a 3.0 litre twin-turbo V6 petrol engine, which is the most powerful engine in the A5 lineup. The engine, which is mated to an 8-speed Tiptronic gearbox, is capable of producing a maximum power output of 450 PS and a peak torque output of 600 Nm. With such numbers, the Audi RS5 Coupe is able to reach from 0 to 100 kmph in just 3.9 seconds, which is quite fast.

The Audi RS5 Coupe is equipped with the best of safety features one can expect from a car of this price. Along with the basics, the other safety features on board are attention assist, Audi pre-sense city with autonomous emergency braking and pedestrian detection, electromechanical parking brake, electronic stability control with electronic wheel-selective torque control, ABS, ASR, EDL and Brake Assist, front and side airbags and tire pressure monitoring system.

The Audi RS5 Coupe can be best termed as the sportscar for daily use. While it has performance on tap thrilling enough to put some cars above its price to shame, it still is practical enough to drive with a great balance in comfort and sporty driving appeal.
